More than 20 courses, world-class instruction, and fairways that run right to the water's edge.
A golfer's island
Hilton Head Island has been a golf destination since the 1960s, when Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus helped put it on the map. Today the island hosts more than 20 courses ranging from resort tracks to private clubs, with options for every skill level and budget.
Folly Field is well-positioned for golfers — several top courses are within a 10-minute drive, and the island's flat terrain makes it easy to get around between rounds.

Planning your golf trip
Book tee times well in advance for peak season (March–May, October). Many courses fill weeks out.
Twilight rates offer significant savings — typically starting 2–3 hours before sunset.
Most resort courses require soft spikes. Check dress codes before you go.
Golf carts are standard on all courses. Walking is permitted on some — ask when booking.
The island's humidity can be intense in July and August. Carry extra water and plan for early morning rounds.
