About Fish Haul Beach Park
Fish Haul Beach Park is a remote north-end beach near the Mitchelville Freedom Park — the site of the first self-governed freedmen's community in the United States, established in 1861. The beach is wide and wild, with minimal development and a strong sense of place. It is one of the least-visited public beaches on the island, ideal for a quiet walk or a morning of solitude. The road to Fish Haul Beach is unpaved for the last stretch.
